Master’s Programs/Continuing Education
From the Merrimack College Website: The Master’s in Community Engagement (M.Ed.) prepares students to be non-profit leaders, social change activists, and leaders in the national service learning movement. Students will gain a broad understanding of civic engagement, including trends, theoretical models, and best practices. This versatile degree will prepare students for outreach and partnership work in schools, college, and community organizations. The Master’s in Community Engagement is a 36-credit program.
From the Clark University website: The Community Development and Planning (CDP) program prepares current and future community development practitioners, activists, and scholars to take on the challenges and struggles facing urban areas in the United States. In the program, students learn alternative ways of thinking and transforming communities to achieve greater equity and social justice.
From the Portland State University Website: The Graduate Certificate in Service-Learning and Community-Based Learning in Postsecondary Education consists of an 18-credit series of coursework that focuses on providing sound philosophical, theoretical, and experiential preparation in service-learning and community engagement for those who teach, coordinate, and/or research learning through community involvement with college students.

Ashoka helps seed that network investment through stipends that allow Fellows the financial flexibility to fully dedicate themselves to their new ideas.

Program participants gain practical experience fighting hunger and poverty through placements in community-based organizations across the country, as well as policy experience through placements in Washington, D.C. Through this unique program bridging community-based efforts and national public policy, Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellows develop as effective leaders in the movement to end hunger and poverty.
From the Scoville Website: The Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship is a highly-competitive national fellowship program that provides recent college and grad school graduates with the opportunity to gain a Washington perspective on key issues of peace and security. Twice yearly, the fellowship's Board of Directors selects a group of outstanding individuals to spend six to nine months in Washington. Supported by a salary, the fellows serve as full-time junior staff members at the participating organization of their choice.

Nativity Fellows Program, - Worcester, MA
Nativity School of Worcester offers a comprehensive, quality education to its high-needs, at-risk students as a result of the dedication, hard work, and passion of its Nativity Fellows. Nativity Fellows are distinguished, recent college graduates who are excited about the challenges and rewards of providing a quality education for Worcester’s disadvantaged boys. Nativity Fellows teach or co-teach three to four class periods per day in addition to serving as advisors, tutors, proctors, coaches, nurses, janitors, drivers, monitors, and managers of all other responsibilities that promote the students’ well-being. Applicants need not be education majors and need not have a teaching certificate.
