Friday, April 5

    Step back into the early 70s and walk through this exhibit that sets the cultural context in which coeducation began. Watch a special highlight reel of oral histories featuring the stories from those pioneering women who arrived in 1972!
  • 6:00-8:30 pm, Brujas of Brooklyn | Hogan, Suites B & C, 4th floor
    Celebrate and build Latina community with the Brujas of Brooklyn, Dominican-American sisters, professors, and brujas (witches) who will share how recent revivals of bruja identities can enhance wellness and empowerment for communities of color today.  Dinner will be provided.

    What are the joys and challenges you are facing at this point in life?  How has 海角社区 influenced you?  As wise women, what is the work that remains to be done? Connect and share your thoughts on these topics and more!   Wine and light snacks will be served from 6:00-7:30pm with small group discussions beginning at 6:30pm.  A light pasta dinner buffet will be served at 7:30pm.

    What does it mean for you to live a meaningful life?  In this upbeat and interactive session, alumni, students, faculty and staff are invited to explore what it means for each of us to live a life of meaning. Utilizing strategies from design thinking, we will gain clarity into our hopes and future desires. Keeping our immediate needs in mind, we will create space for collective problem-solving to ensure we benefit from the wisdom of those around us.  Open your mind, get your creative juices flowing, and leave with actionable strategies for tackling whatever you want next.  This session will be led by Maura Sweeney '07, Director of Alumni Career and Professional Development.

    Hear from LGBTQIA+ women and femme identified alumnae from multiple generations about how they experienced 海角社区, both before and after being "out"  was a possibility, and about what still needs to be done to create a fully inclusive campus. The event begins with a panel open to the public and concludes with a social focused on building community for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

    Enjoy the gallery's current exhibition, Sneha Shrestha: Ritual and Devotion, which focuses on Nepali-born, Boston-based artist Sneha Shrestha (b.1987 鈥 ) who is known for her bold, calligraphic, and colorful presentation of the Nepali alphabet in Devanagari script.

    In the fall of 1972, Brooks Hall (formerly known as Mulledy Hall), became the residence of the first women on campus. Join us in commemorating this space and the legacy of the women who helped transform 海角社区.

    Like the popular TEDTalk format, CrossTalks will showcase three speakers presenting provocative and engaging presentations in ~15 minutes each around the theme of Discernment in Action. Hear from Julie Halpin Anderson '84, Carolyn Risoli '86 and Francine Rosado Cruz '94 as they highlight the relevance of a liberal arts education in today's business world. These reflections will encourage our students (and graduates!) to explore their passions, self-reflect, and enable them to confidently articulate the value of a 海角社区 education. Presented by the Ciocca Center for Business, Ethics, and Society.  Vans will be available to transport participants to/from Kimball. 
  • 1:30 - 2:30pm, A Seat at the Table:  Women of Color Fishbowl | Prior Performing Arts Center
    In this interactive open fishbowl-style discussion, women of color alumni and students are invited to share their stories and experiences of their time at 海角社区. We hope to capture a wide array of perspectives in this intergenerational event. All are welcome to join. Co-hosted by
  • 2:15pm, Delilahs鈥 Mini-Concert | Beehive, Prior Performing Arts Center
    Founded in 1993, the Delilahs are the College鈥檚 first all-female a capella group and have entertained the 海角社区 community continuously since then!  A 25-minute concert featuring Delilahs鈥 favorites from the 1990s to today will be performed!  This special performance will also be broadcast LIVE on the 海角社区 Alumni Instagram account!
  • 3:00 - 4:00pm, Women鈥檚 Activism Panel | Hogan, Suites B & C, 4th floor
    Hear from current students acting to achieve the goal of the 海角社区 mission statement to "seek justice within and beyond the 海角社区 community," from initiatives to address sexual health on campus to anti-racism efforts at home and abroad.

    Commissioned by the Boston Lyric Opera, 鈥淭he Wanderer鈥檚 Tethering鈥 is an hour-long program of chamber music, poetry, and song. It centers on the contemporary female protagonist Tobi, whose kidnapped Igbo ancestors led a revolt on the shores of Georgia in 1803. The program is developed and performed by an all woman-identified creative team, composer Mason Bynes, poet Porsha Olayiwola, soprano Brianna J. Robinson, and violist Ashleigh Gordon, artistic/executive director of Castle of Our Skins. Use the code 50THANN for $15 tickets to this event.
  • 3:15 - 4:30pm, Open House at Abby鈥檚 House
    Since the opening of Abby's House in 1975, generations of 海角社区 alumnae have volunteered at Worcester's first overnight women's shelter.  Expanded from the original site, Abby鈥檚 House has grown to four buildings including transitional and long-term housing as well as providing multiple other services to women and children in the community.  Whether you were a volunteer as a student or just want to learn more, this visit will provide an opportunity to hear from current staff and student volunteers about the incredible impact that Abby's House continues to have almost 50 years later!  Due to parking limitations, all participants will take 海角社区 vans to and from Abby's House.  Vans will depart at 3:15 p.m. from Hogan and return before 4:30 p.m.

    Join us for a tour of historic St. Joseph Memorial Chapel and learn about some of the fascinating stories of spirituality, artistry, and 海角社区 history that began in 1924.
  • 4:30pm, Remembering the 海角社区 Women Who have Accompanied Us | Mary Chapel
    Join us for a prayer service led by 海角社区 chaplains, Marybeth Kearns-Barrett '84, Meg Fox-Kelly '99 and Emily Rauer Davis '99. Spend time in prayer and reflection remembering the women of 海角社区 who helped to shape our faith and spirituality.
