This catalog explores the work of the abstract artist Adrienne Farb. Born (1956) and raised in Chicago, Farb studied art history at Brown University with esteemed art historian, Kermit Champa, and then moved to Paris to pursue painting full time. She lived for a brief period in London, and currently resides in New York City. From the introduction to the exhibition catalog, curators Jay Clarke and Joanna Ziegler write: “We hope that, together, the publication and exhibition will contribute to a better understanding of Farb’s active and sustained contributions as a contemporary artist and also help the viewer, as well as the reader, to wonder about the significance of abstraction as an artistic choice in the early-twenty-first century.”
